Hi, I'm Shawnna

I create graphics and design resources for female bloggers, crafters and biz owners;

with a fun girly style for your brand, social presence or hand-made products.

Easy access and affordability, alongside flexible licensing, give you the perfect solution for all your many projects.

When I'm not designing I'll be out walking the dogs, binging on Netflix or curled up with a good book.

Lending on Kiva

Giving by Design micro-loans on Kiva at Lovelytocu

Working for myself has been a life-long dream, something I am now so proud to have achieved. But it's not always been an easy road and I know first hand the challenges and hurdles to be faced when following the entrepreneurial trail.

Having access to even the simplest of resources was a turning point for me in setting up my own online business. Being able to tap into the experience and knowledge of others, having a supportive environment and being able to fund my start-up were the single biggest benefits I've enjoyed.

I am now in a position to be able to support others, to share my own knowledge and resources. Choosing to be a micro-lender through Kiva is just one of the ways I'm doing that.

If you've never heard of Kiva, here's what they have to say...

"We envision a world where all people hold the power to create opportunity for themselves and others.

Kiva is an international nonprofit, founded in 2005 and based in San Francisco, with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. We celebrate and support people looking to create a better future for themselves, their families and their communities.

By lending as little as $25 on Kiva, anyone can help a borrower start or grow a business, go to school, access clean energy or realize their potential. For some, it’s a matter of survival, for others it’s the fuel for a life-long ambition. 100% of every dollar you lend on Kiva goes to funding loans. Kiva covers costs primarily through optional donations, as well as through support from grants and sponsors."

To make it easier for organizations to work collaboratively with lending goals, Kiva offers a team environment for individuals to come together with other like-minded souls.

Giving by Design is the team I created in 2013 to bring together other creative entrepreneurs who also wish to give back and support others with the struggle of financial independence.

My personal lending goals are to support creative women in low-income economies. But each member of the Giving by Design team has their own personal objectives based on their own values and life experiences.

I welcome anyone who would like to join us on this journey and contribute to the Giving by Design team's lending goals. Alternatively, scroll down for info on how to contribute with a one-off donation.

If you're interested in supporting the program, but don't want the commitment of the lending program or joining a team on the site, there are other ways to donate.

As a charitable organization Kiva is always hoping for donations direct to them. They do not take a cut of the loans done on their site, but they do still have overhead costs to consider.

Alternatively, you can gift a donation to another member who will loan the money instead. There is a $25 minimum for this option and it's as simple as sending an electronic gift card.

I am more than happy to accept Kiva gift cards from anyone who wants to support the Giving by Design team if this is the best option for you, just send to admin@lovelytocu.com.

Thank You & Best Wishes
